Firmware Update For ICG70T and ICG160T Leica Tilt Receivers

Starting from 1st January 2025, the initialization of the tilt compensation functionality of the iCG70T and iCG160T GNSS sensors will no longer be calculated for receivers that don't have updated firmware.

The sensors will continue to provide positions, but users will need to ensure the bubble is leveled manually during measurements.

This is due to the sunsetting of a check date in the mathematical model in the tilt compensation algorithm, which will cause the tilt functionality to stop working from this date onwards.  Levelled positions will always maintain full accuracy.

Important Information for iCON iCG70T and iCG160T

  • Both the GNSS receivers are affected, and you will need to also ensure the iCON software on tablet/controller has their respective minimum software requirements
  • Check and confirm the Maintenance End Date for your GNSS and iCON sites software meets the follow requirements:
  • If you do not have the required maintenance, please reach out to our sales teams and we can assist in having your equipment updated to the latest maintenance date.
  • This process should take approx 10 min for the GNSS receiver and 15 minutes for the iCON site software on your tablet if required.
  • If you are on Version 8.80.61 (Current Version) for iCG70T or on Version 3.1.50 (Current Version) for iCG160T you are NOT affected, and your receiver will compute tilt compensation on Jan 1, 2025. No further action is needed.
