Adding the ICON ICS50 to our fleet has revolutionized our workflow for interior measuring and templating.
The software and tool itself are intuitive to use with a very quick setup and powerful features. The tool platform is substantial, and the Spatial Tech Team was extremely helpful coordinating our package to ensure we received and understood the features and support we needed to execute extremely technical measures in minimal time.
Working in glass, none of our materials can be site modified and we’re often working with extremely sensitive assemblies that require precision to a 1/16th of an inch to be produced and installed successfully. Lots of cutouts, radius’, walls with bulges, unlevel floors, etc.
Across all proofs I’ve performed, the ICON ICS50 has been deadly accurate to the 1mm advised (using the vPen up to/include 10m). The ability to produce complex CAD live at the site and modify/review it is a huge time saver. Instead of spending hours locating 3D coordinates by hand, then heading to your workstation to produce them in CAD, you arrive back at your workstation with a ready to use 2D or 3D DXF you can use confidently.
The ICON ICS50 has cut my site time in half for typical measures/template layouts. I would recommend this for any trade doing templating or layout that is looking for a portable, easy to use tool with excellent features.
