Sales Rep – Survey/Construction – Supplies & Accessories


Spatial Technologies is looking for an ambitious, highly-driven salesperson to join our team. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for Geomatics, construction, technology, connecting with people and communicating technical information then this may be the position for you. If you know your way around construction sites, design/surveys, total stations, lasers, locators and general positioning technologies we want to hear from you.

This successful candidate will be responsible for supporting existing clients and growing the sales of Spatial’s consumables supplies, vertical construction positioning and related Surveying products for the region by prospecting potential clients and nurturing the sales process through to a successful conclusion. You will be expected to maintain profitability and meet targets for growth. Spatial Technologies is looking for an honest, motivated individual with a willingness to learn, adapt and grow. The ideal candidate will possess a successful track record in sales along with practical experience in Geomatics and/or Construction Surveying.

Spatial Technologies is an established supplier of measurement solutions to the Western Canada Geomatics, Exploration, Engineering and Construction market. Spatial Technologies provides high quality measurement solutions and machine automation to civil/construction and Surveying firms to improve productivity, efficiency and margins.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prospect and generate new business and support a growing user base.
  • You will be accountable for sales targets and profitability for your region
  • Expected to maintain and manage the sales process
  • Reporting to management with current sales funnels, forecast and strategies
  • Effectively communicate and demonstrate how new technology impacts accuracy, Productivity and margins.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Spatial Technologies technical staff to support Leica positioning products and related technologies.
  • Successfully balance and execute planning, strategy and prospecting in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage rentals to clients in your territory
  • Support your clients with a quick response and attention to detail.
  • Always strive to over deliver what’s been promised.

Required and Preferred Skills:

  • Heavy Equipment Operator and/or Geomatics/Civil Engineering diploma or 3+ years relevant work experience.
  • Background in construction, surveying equipment, GPS/Laser technology and/or machine automation.
  • Familiar with surveying theory and field work.
  • Experience operating robotic total stations and GPS equipment.
  • Thorough understanding of survey field and office software and CAD systems.
  • Able to follow through on sales plans
  • Strives to maintain and increase customer satisfaction
  • Aptitude for computer related technology.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Must be highly Organized and able to work independently.
  • Must be able to prioritize in a constantly changing environment.
  • Problem solving skills are essential.
  • Valid Alberta Driver’s license
