Aidan Pauls of SDP Concrete Ltd. Testimonial

We are no strangers to challenging layouts. However, in 2021, when faced with large townhomes requiring multiple stepped footings and walls, we decided to step up our approach to laying them out accurately. Initially, we sought to purchase a used manual Total Station, assuming that Robotic Total Stations were completely out of reach financially, or too advanced for a small forming company to operate.

Adrien heard our layout needs and suggested a Leica iCR70 for single-person operation. To date, it has been the single best investment SDP Concrete has made. Using a Robotic Total Station for building and laying out concrete formwork has created opportunities to build larger scale custom homes and townhomes with repeated precision. Furthermore, pairing the iCR70 with the recently released tilt-compensating AP20 AutoPole has exponentially increased our productivity.

The iCR70 and AutoPole continue to more than pay for themselves through the time saved preforming the layout of our formwork. At the cost of less than a layout assistant’s salary, with capabilities beyond simply holding a tape measure on a line, this instrument quickly earned its place as a vital member of our team.

We are grateful to Adrien for steering us in the right direction, and we look forward to further expanding our opportunities with the help of Spatial Technologies and Leica Geosystems.
